Akshay, Nimrat in Ras Al KhaimahAkshay, Nimrat in Ras Al Khaimah

Nimrat Kaur celebrated her 33rd birthday in Ras Al Khaimah recently. The Lunchbox star was shooting for the film Airlift with her co-star Akshay Kumar. She even took to Twitter to talk about her first working birthday saying, “Bringing it in with a gorgeous Middle East sunrise, a first working birthday for me! Tonnes of love and warmth to everyone sending in wishes.”

The cast and crew of the film surprised her with a cake at midnight. The unit will be stationed in the UAE for the next few days.

This film is said to be set in Kuwait during the 1990 Gulf War and is based on the Indians who were stuck there because of the situation. Akshay will play Ranjit Katyal in the movie and Nimrat will essay the role of his wife.

Ranjit is the mastermind who coordinates and leads the operation of the world’s largest civilian evacuation in which more than 1,70, 000 Indians were evacuated from war-torn Kuwait.

Great time for moviesAnushka Sharma

What an amazing year for Bollywood so far! It’s only March but already three small yet wonderful movies have made it big at the box-office. Dum Lagaake Haisha, Badlapur and NH10 were not the usual commercial masala movies that Bollywood churns out every now and then.

The young actors and directors took a risk to portray stories that were out of the box and the risk paid off resulting in massive love from the audience and critics. Ayushmann Khurrana hit the jackpot with Dum Lagaake Haisha; Varun Dhawan hit gold with revenge drama Badlapur and Anushka Sharma is getting rave reviews for her first production venture NH10, a gritty and violent thriller.

Busiest newbie in town

Fawad Khan’s calendar is completely packed.

The Khoobsurat actor is one of the busiest actors in Bollywood. This Pakisani eye-candy will reportedly be playing one of the lead roles in Shakun Batra’s next film for Karan Johar, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. Before he starts on the K-Jo production, he will star in Battle of Bittora with Sonam Kapoor. There are also talks of Madamji with Priyanka Chopra and a Sahir Ludhianvi biopic. Recent news stories also claim that he has been roped in to play the role of Virat Kohli in the MS Dhoni biopic.

United they standArjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia

A tabloid from Mumbai recently reported that Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia are heading for divorce as the couple was spotted at the Bandra family court. A very angry Arjun Rampal lashed out big time on Twitter asking media to get their facts straight. The actor rubbished the divorce stories saying that he went to the family court regarding the separation of his friend Marc Robinson from wife Waluscha De Sousa, who, by the way, will be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Fan.

Blockbuster star cast

Shah Rukh KhanDirector Rohit Shetty has brought together a dream star cast of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon for his next, Dilwale. Rohit said that this film will be a wholesome family entertainer and he would not categorise it as action or comedy. He also cleared the air saying that this film will not be a remake of Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi or Hum. This film will release around Christmas. It might face

tough competition at the box-office as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastaani and Imtiaz Ali’s Tamashaa are scheduled to release on the same day. This film is all set to go on the floors in Mumbai on March 20.
