Awards Night

The award night will be staged at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on November 9 (Friday). The night will see performances by artists like Benny Dayal, Stephen Devassy, Kalpana, Afsal, Shamna Kasim and Ramesh Pisharody. Ranjini Haridas will be hosting the show.

Tickets priced at Dhs25, 40, 75, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 are available at all Lulu Hyper markets across Dubai and the Northern Emirates. From November 7 tickets will also be available at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. (Call 055-3453029, 04-3707017 for more details)

THE WINNERS

Mohanlal was declared the Best Actor for his performances in the movies Spirit and Run Baby Run. The selection of winners was done through a public voting campaign.

Juhi Chawla won the award for Excellence in Hindi for her understated performance as Mekha in the movie I AM, and the director of the same movie Onir was the winner in the Excellence in Hindi-Creative category. Shruti Haasan (actor, singer, music composer) will be awarded in the Excellence in Tamil category for her movie Moonu (3).

Malayalam movie star Rima Kallingal was ajudged the Best Actress for her sensitive portrayal of Tessa in 22 Female Kottayam and Ashwathi in Nidra.

Fahadh Faasil who enthralled the audience with his subtle performances in movies like Diamond Necklace and 22 Female Kottayam has been selected as Performer of the Year.

Director Lal Jose’s Diamond Necklace bagged the Best Movie Award and Ranjith is the Best Director for the movie Spirit. Jayasurya was declared Second Best Actor (Beautiful, Trivandrum Lodge) and Revathy Second Best Actress for the movie Molly Aunty Rocks.
