Even Rs85 lakhs for a miniscule performance couldn’t change Ash’s mind.

Buzz is that Ash was to perform at a major award ceremony organised by a leading publishing house, which also publishes the tabloid. However, once this article appeared Ash was horrified – she turned down the offer and has refused to perform unless the publication issues a public apology.

Apparently, the entire Bachchan clan supports Aishwarya’s decision.

A day after the article appeared, Ash had written a note to the publication calling their story fake and had asked them to publicly apologise. Father-in-law Amitabh Bachchcan also used his blog to vent his ire. He wrote, “this particular article has caused our entire family a lot of distress.” Bachchan senior also hinted that either the tabloid should retract the article or apologise.

But since the tabloid hasn’t done either, the Bachchan family decided to stay away from the award ceremony all together.

A source close to the actress says: “This was the only performance that Ash was supposed to do this year, so it was a big deal for her. But after reading the article Ash was extremely upset. She was mortified at how the tabloid could publish an article about her health. She thought that this time they had crossed the line and hence they should apologise. When she discussed the matter with her family they agreed with her.”
