Fahadh Fazil stars in D-Company and North 24 Kaatham

The film, however, opened to mixed reviews, although the verdict is unanimous about Mammootty’s performance as a smalltime thug who is forced to play a central role in a drama.
Dileep’s Sringaravelan too has claimed good initials as was expected, although the film has been panned almost by all other than die-hard fans of the actor. The film is said to conform fully to the expected clichés and humour situations that are associated with the writers Uday Krishna and Siby Thomas.

The portmanteau movie, D-Company, with a stellar cast of the new age heroes including Fahadh Fazil, Asif Ali, Unni Mukundan, Jayasoorya and Anoop Menon, has generated some positive buzz, with Jayasoorya’s fine performance in particular currying favour.

The MT Vasudevan Nair-Hariharan film, Ezhamathe Varavu has been favourably received by the discerning audience with the performance of both Indrajith and Vineeth being much appreciated. Incidentally, the film was originally planned in 1978 with Sukumaran and Venu Nagavally in the lead. Although some part of the film (then titled Evideyo Oru Shathru) was shot at the time, it was shelved. Some 35 years later, the film’s script, critics note, remain as fresh and contemporary as ever, highlighting the power of MT’s writing.

However, if there is one film that everyone is raving about, it is Fahadh Faasil’s North 24 Kaatham. The film, directed by debutant Anil Radhakrishnan Menon, has Fahadh playing the role of an IT professional with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Nedumudi Venu and Swathi Reddy, too have charmed viewers with their performance in this film.
