Finalists of BurJuman ‘Fillies & Fashion’ event reveal some of the trends and colours for the Dubai World Cup

WITH THE most glamourous event in Dubai’s racing and social calendar set to take off, the winners of BurJuman’s ‘Fillies & Fashion’ events have revealed what they are planning to wear.

During the Dubai World Cup that starts this weekend, the finalists hope to walk away with the distinguished ‘Best Dressed Lady’ accolade at this year’s BurJuman Style Stakes competition.

While one of the ladies is opting for a more fitted and tailored look, another has chosen a Grecian style with raw silk fabrics. A flowing chiffon design is also a popular choice with all of the ladies deciding to choose their outfit prior to buying their hat.

A noticeable trend with this year’s finalists is the use of a bolero style jacket to complement their stylish ensemble. Further, a mixture of champagne, tan and bronze appears to be the running theme when it comes to colour.

The exquisite headpieces chosen to accompany the outfits were all designed with the dress shade in mind, incorporating feathers and netting details. Many of the ladies have chosen their hats from the stunning couture collection available at the BurJuman International Millinery Exhibition that is showcasing the designs of milliners from all around the world.

On March 29, the 2008 BurJuman Style Stakes will take place during the Dubai World Cup at the International Village, where finalists from the series of three glamorous Fillies & Fashion evenings will compete with hundreds of other contestants who have registered on the day to win fabulous prizes in various categories including Best Dressed Lady, Runner Up, Best Dressed Couple, and the Milliner’s Award for Best Hat
