The 2nd Short Film Festival to be organised by the Al Ain Film Club has invited entries from across the GCC countries for their first Inter-Gulf Short Film Competition.
The festival will be held on March 25 and short films of up to 10 minutes' duration, without any language bar, can be sent for various award categories in the festival, the organisers said in a recent press meet in Al Ain.
Dubai-based Joshy Mangalath, who bagged India's National Award and Kerala State Film Award for the screenplay of the movie Ottal in 2015 and prominent Malayalam director I.V. Sasi, who received the prestigious J.C. Daniel Award from the Kerala State Government last year, were honoured on the occasion.
I.V. Sasi is the patron and chief jury member of the Al Ain Film Club's Short Film Festival, the inaugural edition of which was open to entries from Indian short filmmakers based in the UAE.
The organisers said they wished to expand the scope of the festival and its awards to the GCC level from the second edition. Those interested can contact 055 583 1306 for more details.
