Mammootty was in Dubai this week taking his ‘My Tree Challenge’ to the Gulf region. As chief mentor and goodwill ambassador of the unique challenge that aims at adding value to Mother Earth by planting a tree, Mammootty will now have an eponymous tree in the premises of the Grand Hyatt Dubai.

The actor said he was invited by Grand Hyatt Dubai team to plant the tree as part of the campaign. He had thrown open the challenge to support the eco-revolution to several actors including Shah Rukh Khan.

Down south, Tamil cinema’s super stars Vijay and Surya have already taken up the challenge. Vijay has in fact passed on the challenge to school students, aiming to plant 25,000 saplings. On social media, the campaign is going viral with thousands of supporters for the cause.

As the ambassador for going green, Mammootty has taken his stardom to a new level – and indeed for a right cause.
