TOKYO - The yen barely moved in Asian trade on Monday after the Group of Seven major nations voiced concern about "excessive volatility" on the market.
The yen inched down to 94.11 against the dollar after the statement was issued, compared with 93.90 in the late morning. It was still stronger than the 94.24 reached at the end of New York trade on Friday.
The yen soared Friday to a 13-year high as investors unwind positions in the Japanese currency amid the global financial turmoil.
