UPC launches Online Version of Estidama

ABU DHABI - The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC), has launched the new Web site version of Estidama, an initiative to further encourage responsible decision making to bring the capital emirate and the region towards global sustainability leadership.



Estidama means sustainability in Arabic and the initiative groups together communities, organisations, businesses and policy-makers to achiveve sustainable growth, according to a statement issued by UPC.

The state-of-the-art online portal includes a number of interactive tools that allow users home page customisation according to their needs and specialised interests on sustainability issues.

It also functions as a forum to exchange views, comments and ideas and empowers users to delve deep into the latest trends of sustainability directly from specialist Estidama experts.

Quoting Salem Al Qassimi, associate planner, Estidama, the statement said that visitors to the website <http://www.estidama.org/>www.estidama.org can learn details of the newly launched Estidama Integrative Design Process (EIDP) which focuses on how sustainability can be achieved rather than simply explaining what it meant.
