Group unveils a landmark 11 million square feet project on Jumeirah coastline
Oil flowed at 2,065 barrels per day (bpd) from an exploration well in Aabar’s onshore Tunkgal concession.
The well is 2.5 kilometres from the Mengoepeh oilfield which began production in December 2004.
Aabar owns 70 percent of the concession, while Canada’s privately-owned Fuel-X International owns the rest.
Abu-Dhabi-listed Aabar has net output of 20,000 bpd of oil from operations in Thailand and Indonesia. The company plans to drill 10-15 exploration wells in 2007.
