UAE signs economic deal with Albania

DUBAI — The UAE Ministry of Economy has signed an agreement on economic cooperation with the Republic of Albania to develop economic, trade and technical cooperation between the two countries.

UAE Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri signed the agreement with Albania Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Edmond Haxhinasto. The fields of trade, industry, agriculture, transport, telecommunications, tourism and investment are included.

The UAE and Albania will prepare studies aimed at exploring the possibilities to execute the identified projects, and shall encourage cooperation for the joint achievement of projects. Both parties shall take all necessary measures for the encouragement of trade and technical co-operation between specialised entities, companies and authorised natural persons of the two countries in particular by the exchange of experts, scientists, technicians, students and trainees in the relevant fields.

“The agreement is a major step to form the joint economic committee between both countries,” Al Mansouri said, adding that the agreement falls within the ministry’s programme in 2012 to promote policy of international openness and building economic relations with leading countries in the world which is considered strategic for the UAE, in order to promote economic diversification and attract foreign investment and international expertise to support of innovation and the requirements of the knowledge economy.
