TrustPort launches Mideast operations

DUBAI — TrustPort, a European company producing security software, on Sunday launched its operations in the Middle East and said it would headquarter its marketing, operational and technical support services for the region in the UAE.

The Czech brand seeks to achieve five to 10 per cent share of Middle East’s security software market this year, said Gladiola Nemea, chief executive officer.

“We will boost our share in the region’s security software up to 25 per cent during next three to five years,” Nemea told Khaleej Times on the sidelines of a Press conference yesterday.

TrustPort security solutions use highly efficient antivirus technology ranking among the top antivirus solutions in the world in terms of viruses and spyware detection.

Its products are offered in several languages and they protect companies and home users in over hundred countries.

“We are targeting retail and SME sector in the initial phase and would gradually focus on big corporate clients to boost our market share in this growing security market,” he said.

The company also announced the launch of the TrustPort PC security edition 2010. The software destroys all viruses and spyware and prevents hacker penetration.

“The Middle East and Asia Pacific region is probably the most promising world market, with rapid growth in information technologies. We aim to establish our stable presence in the region.”

Nemea said UAE would be the focal point of TrustPort operations in the Middle East as it is well placed in terms of logistics. “Our entry with an office here is the first step towards our expansion in the region,” he said.

He said Trust Port has developed an extensive partner network in all continents that distribute its products to both home and corporate clients.

The company’s global headquarters are located in Brno, second largest city of the Czech Republic. It also has regional offices in Latin America, North America, Western Europe and India.

“As a part of our business strategy for the Middle East, we aim to establish a round-the-clock technical support hotline for this region,” said Roman Velia, international sales manager, TrustPort.

He said TrustPort Middle East would take care of all business activities, including technical support, product manufacturing, distribution and shipping.
