The inclusion of DVD-Multi Drive on the Satellite 1950-801 notebook offers users up to 9.4GB capacity for recording and re-recording data more than 100,000 times the traditional re-writeable CDs or DVDs, Toshiba said.

Twice the speed of a traditional DVD-R/RW drive, the DVD-Multi Drive is seen as ideal for users who need to save huge amounts of data, or back up information on a regular basis. It will also be possible for users to watch and re-write DVDs on the move.
'Storage requirement by individuals and businesses has increased substantially in recent years. The DVD-Multi Drive offers users a reliable storage solution that allows them to save and archive huge amounts of data' said Ahmed Khalil, regional manager of the computer systems division of Toshiba Middle East.

The Satellite 1950-801 is also covered by Toshiba"s three-year international warranty selling through all authorised distributors and dealers within the Middle East.
The new notebook is powered by Intel Pentium 4, 2.8GHz processor and combines a detachable wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse with 1 6.0-inch TFT display, a 60GB hard disk drive and 512MB of DDR RAM.
