Texprocil awards top exporters
MUMBAI - The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) has distributed the Annual Export Awards 2011-12 at a grand function held at ITC Grand Central in Mumbai recently.
Kiran Dhingra, secretary, Ministry of Textiles was the chief guest at the function and she presented the awards to the outstanding export performers in the cotton textile industry. The occasion was also graced by the presence of V. Srinivas, joint secretary (Exports), Sunaina Tomar, joint secretary. Textiles and AB Joshi, textile commissioner.
Amit Ruparelia, the outgoing chairman of Texprocil, welcomed everybody to the evening which included a cultural programme followed by the distribution of Awards. The gold, silver and bronze awards were distributed in different categories of cotton yarns, fabrics and made-ups to manufacturer exporters as well as merchant exporters. Leading textile companies like Welspun Global Brands Ltd, Alok Industries Ltd, Arvind Ltd, Abhishek Industries, Loyal Textiles, Vardhman Textiles and Winsome Textiles were among the award winners in the manufacturers’ category.
