Du offers free 15GB data, unlimited outgoing calls for UAE residents stranded abroad

The UAE’s second telecom operator says it has activated the free offer in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, where it is valid for three days

Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) on Thursday announced it is offering free 15GB data and unlimited outgoing calls to UAE residents who are stranded outside the country due to flight suspensions.

The UAE’s second telecom operator said in a message sent out to its customers in the UAE, saying it has activated a free 15GB roaming data bundle for its customers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with unlimited outgoing calls and 500 incoming minutes.

Starting today (Thursday), this special offer is valid for three days.

On Wednesday, du confirmed that its operational readiness and confirmed infrastructure and core systems were operating normally amid ongoing regional military conflicts involving the US, Israel and Iran.

“Our priority remains ensuring uninterrupted connectivity and maintaining the resilience of our operations while ensuring the safety of our people. We operate critical national infrastructure and our role within the UAE economy is very clear,” Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, said earlier.
