Swithin D’Silva and Haitham Kalakesh showing new devices
Dubai — VSun, the global smartphone manufacturer, has unveiled six models of smartphones and three models of tablets specifically targeting the Middle East, Africa and CIS markets.
VSun has more than 10 years’ experience of taking care of the whole life-cycle of a mobile phone for its customers. Its phones are sold to big local brands in South-East Asia, South America, Russia and Africa, according to top officials of the company.
The company launched its own first series of smartphones and tablets more than a month ago in the UAE and it is participating at third edition of Gitex Shopper Spring for the first time.
“Gitex 2015 presents an ideal platform for our group to showcase its range of designer smartphones and tablets at affordable prices. We have already tied up with a number of distributors across the region and negotiations are on to finalise deals with more partners,” they informed.
The VSun stand at Gitex is presenting the new range of smartphones that are targeting mainly the youth and upwardly mobile consumers in the region, marked by exciting social media competitions live @ Gitex.
“We are offering top quality products with latest technology and at very affordable prices,” VSun regional sales director Swithin D’Silva told Khaleej Times at the four-day consumer electronics show in Dubai. “All of our devices have dual sim, leather accessories, leather smart cover and screen protectors,” D’Silva informed. Starting price is Dh149 for basic model and it goes up to Dh999, he added. The company has also begun its regional expansion in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, as part of an aggressive push into the region’s booming smartphone and tablet market. “We have signed distributors in Bahrain and Qatar. We are opening the offices in Egypt and Saudi Arabia next month,” he informed.
“We are targeting the youth with a range of products with unique new features. The aspirational value is clearly evident in the designs that are neat and simple, yet chic and elegant. With powerful Octa Core Processors and the cool ‘gesture control’ features, we are well on our way to wooing the youth of today to become brand ambassadors of our products,” D’Silva said.
VSun’s Haitham Kalakesh commented: “VSun has chalked out an ambitious growth plan for the region. This can be seen in the flurry of activity in recent days. We have expanded our operations in upmarket Cairo to target the burgeoning Egyptian smartphone and tablet market. Simultaneously, we have now direct presence in Riyadh to support our distributors and retailers in the GCC’s largest market.”
