Special unit to study the tariff obstacles

ABU DHABI — The Federal Customs Authority (FCA) has established a special unit to study tariff obstacles being faced by the businesses in the country. The unit called " Tawasul" (Link) will operate out of FCA's the Dubai establishment.

Saeed Khalifa Al Merri, deputy director-general of the FCA, said: "The Authority has established the unit in order to obtain the best and fastest possible ways and means to redress the issues that are encountered by the private sector."

"The objective is to create a link between the private sector and the Customs Department in the UAE, in the context of the Customs Union of the GCC countries and the Agreements of Free Trade".
