Societe Generale, BNP bid for Egypt bank

CAIRO — Societe Generale and BNP Paribas have bid for a controlling stake in Egypt’s Misr International Bank, one of MIBank’s owners said yesterday.

State-owned Banque Misr, which owns 25.5 per cent of MIBank, said it had received the offers from the two French banks but did not mention a bid from Barclays Bank Plc.
