"This is the first of its kind project in the world that to include all related matters of shipping and maritime services," said Hua.

This came during her visit to the project management, while she discussed with Amer Ali, Project Manager about the Singaporean experiment to build up maritime complex that is more useful for this field.

Amer Ali said: "Dubai Maritime City will ultimately be a maritime hub both regionally and internationally and a focal point for maritime services, management, marketing, education, recreation, ship design and management."

DMC would be the world's largest maritime development and located on a manmade peninsula measuring 25 million square feet.

Dredging has already begun to create this peninsula between Dubai's Port Rashid and Dubai Drydocks and connected to the mainland by a causeway.

The first development of its kind, DMC will offer world-class facilities to maritime businesses in the region and worldwide.

It will be the hub for six large and diverse sectors: marine marketing, management, services, recreation, education, ship design and manufacture.
