Shaikha Lubna receives German state delegation

ABU DHABI - UAE Foreign Trade Minister Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi underlined the depth of economic and commercial ties between the UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany, citing the joint economic committee which meets annually.

She said at the meeting with the German Bavaria state's economic delegation led by Dr Guenther Beckstein, Prime Minister of Bavaria state that “the German exports to the UAE surges 24 per cent annually, occupying fourth position among the countries exporting to the UAE. The German exports to the UAE constitute 7.5 per cent of the imports, while the German imports from the UAE drop 2 per cent annually’.

Shaikha Lubna noted that over 500, 000 German tourists visited the UAE last year as daily flight trips between the UAE and Germany increase,

adding that the Emirates airline and Etihad Airways conduct direct trips to many German cities, while Lufthansa conducts daily flights between the German and UAE cities as well.- Wam
