Shaikh Ahmed said: "We welcome Mr Abdul Latif and his delegation to Dubai. We have set a strong example in the Middle East as far as infrastructure development and technology is concerned. The Iraqi officials have shown keen interest in our projects and we are only to happy to help them."
Mr Abdul Latif specifically mentioned the management of Basra airport. He commented: "We are very impressed with the progress made by Dubai International Airport and are here to learn. We request Sheikh Ahmed to consider taking up the management and handling of Basra airport."
Shaikh Ahmed continued: "We are definitely interested in the venture and will study it in depth. When the time is right we will be the first to take up the project." The delegation was shown a special presentation on the expansion plans of Dubai International Airport
