The demonstrations will take place daily at locations throughout MEC and PMV Live, including a dedicated outdoor Live Demonstration space, located next to the outdoor café bySmart Box.

Formwork specialists PERI will be demonstrating two innovative technologies: the PERI UP Rosett Flex modular scaffolding system, which offers maximum flexibility in scaffolding construction and built-in safety features; and PERI SKYDECK, an aluminium panel slab formwork suitable for any construction project and slab thicknesses of up to 95 cm.

Staying with formwork, Austrian manufacturers Doka will use the dedicated outdoor live demonstration space to showcase safety and speed training on the Staxo 40 lightweight shoring towers, which the company claims can offer a staggering 80 per cent time saving. Doka will be hosting live demonstrations on days one and two of the show, from 4pm to 5pm.

Cantec, meanwhile, will be demonstrating concrete finishing equipment from Allen Engineering USA, such as its full line of ride on trowels, walk behind trowels, truss screeds and the magic screed. The company’s innovative Somero laser screeds - the premiere concrete placing tool used for placing and leveling concrete to laser controlled tolerances - will also be featured onsite.

On the lifting and access side, OSL will be demonstrating the UNIC URW295 mini crane’s ability to operate in restricted working spaces. Compact enough to fit through a standard doorway, the crane can still lift up to 2900Kg. NFT Cranes will also be taking advantage of the space offered by the outside Live Demonstration area to showcase two of their specialty products - Potain’s Igo 50, and Orbit Hoist. A self erecting tower crane, the Igo 50 offers a compact design with a small rear slewing radius that ensures maneuverability on even the most congested job sites. The Orbit Hoist – used for transportation of both passengers and material in the field of general buildings and high rise towers – is available in a variety of lifting capacities, ranging from one to four tonnes.

Nathan Waugh, Event Manager for MEC and PMV Live, said: “These live demonstrations offer exhibitors a unique way to showcase the real benefits of their technology and products to potential customers, and add a real air of excitement to the show.

“With a custom-designed outdoor facility offering daily demonstrations, and a host of other live shows taking place on a number of exhibitors’ stands, both inside and outside, MEC and PMV Live will be adding a whole new dimension to the Big 5 event this year.”

Middle East Concrete (MEC) will be a one-stop shop covering everything from raw materials and logistics to precast products/ training and certification in the concrete industry. PMV Live is a brand new event concept which offers a unique mix of products, technology and machinery for anyone involved in the Plant, Machinery and Vehicles sector.
