It named Suhail Bahwan Automobiles (SBA) as its new Oman dealer in the place of Al Hashar and Company which had been the franchisee for Nissan vehicles for several decades.

"Nissan recognises the great growth potential represented by Oman's automobile market," Shigeru Tsubaki, managing director of Nissan Middle East FZE, said in a Press statement, adding: "The new exclusive appointment will enhance Nissan's presence in this important territory both in terms of growth and Nissan's high level of customer service." The Middle East, he stressed, represented one of the fastest growing auto markets in the world with one of the highest per capita levels of car ownership.

SBA is a member of the Suhail Bahwan Group, one of the largest business houses in Oman with interests spread over 35 manufacturing, trading, and service companies.
