The Green Spine, designed by URB in collaboration with EPIC Lab, promises to redefine urban mobility through 100 per cent solar-powered trams and eco-conscious infrastructure
Sultan Al Shamsi, general manager, IT, Al Rostamani said: "Empowerment of our employees through tools such as this portal is crucial to increase efficiency and productivity. This deployment will enable our employees to utilise a central point of access to all of the group's key business information and applications, as well as share information across file servers, databases, websites and Exchange public folders."
The EPM solution will support project portfolio analysis, enterprise wide resource optimisation, while providing access to real-time centralised project information and issues tracking and automated communications.
The SPS 2001 allows employees to browse through information by categories, search, subscribe and find information in line of business applications, check documents, review a document's version history, and publish documents.
In addition, users can also customise the portal's home page to display organisational news and other important information, the company said.
SharePoint Portal Server creates a web portal automatically during installation.
The portal offers a centralised access point for finding and managing information.
By using a browser to view the portal, users can collaborate on documents and find information without switching from one application to another.
"Enterprise Project Management Solution and SharePoint will create an environment at Al Rostamani that will positively affect the Group's return on investment (ROI) levels through improved organisation of corporate information," said Abdullatif Almulla, general manager, Microsoft South Gulf.
