Brand-Folio, the regional distributor of Skechers is looking for opportunities during the current challenges of the pandemic. While the retail industry may be going through a rough patch due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Skechers sees the opportunities in the current situation and thus has ramped up its presence in recent months.
The company opened six new stores in June and July and has seven additional stores that are scheduled to open before the end of the year. With three brand new stores in Pakistan and one each in Azerbaijan, Libya, and Uzkekistan, the Skechers storesare at it’s all-time high, taking the count to 191stores across the Middle East and CIS countries.
“As one of the biggest footwear brands in the region, we see this time as the ideal period for preparation for the future. Opening a store, at the right location takes time, and the downtime only gave us the motivation to have more touchpoints for consumers. The sneaker industry is expanding, and we need to be present in more locations to fulfill our consumer needs”, says Archana Das, General Manager, Skechers Middle East and CIS.
Along with new stores, Skechers has launched various new categories in its range. From the podiatrist approved Arch-Fit to the Premium Skechers Heritage collection, the brand is being flaunted by local influencers and celebrities on an ongoing basis.
