The Lulu Group, a major UAE retailer, has asked consumers not to fall for a new fake website that is running a fraudulent campaign.

The fake website contains a survey, seeking consumers' views about the retailer. Upon completion of the survey, respondents are offered a 250 euro coupon as a reward. But when respondents click to claim the coupon, the website demands that they must share it with 20 friends or five groups on WhatsApp to claim the coupon.

V. Nandakumar, director for marketing and communications at Lulu Group International, confirmed that this is a fraudulent website and asked consumers to be alert of such fake messages and spams circulating in social media.

"We have been noticing similar fraudulent and fake messages circulating in social media and have informed relevant authorities for further action. We would request everyone to be alert and not fall for such spams," said Nandakumar.

"We only communicate through our official and verified social media accounts," he added.
