RAK FTZ, RCCI sign Memorandum of Understanding

RAS AL KHAIMAH — The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority (RAK FTZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday, with the RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhance commercial and economic cooperation between the two departments.

The Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce also opened a branch office at the premises of the RAK FTZ to offer the zone's customers the highest level of service possible under one roof saving the zone's clients time and money.

The MoU was signed by Oussama El Omari, CEO of the RAK FTZ, and Dr. Rashid Al Abduli, First Deputy of the RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council at the Business Centre of the RAK FTZ.

It focused on expanding trade and investment cooperation, where both sides pledged to make further efforts to boost economic cooperation that will lure investments, promote economic growth, and develop the zone's services and facilities offered regionally and internationally.

El Omari said that both departments have to play prominent roles in promoting the business opportunities available in the emirate and will be responsible for introducing potential investors from around the world to the state-of-the art services and facilities in Ras Al Khaimah.

"As per the articles of the MoU, the two departments should join forces in organising marketing campaigns in the UAE and outside it to promote products, take part in promotional fairs and exhibitions and jointly receive visiting business delegations," said El Omari.

Dr Abdul Rahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi, Director General of the RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the economic partnership and cooperation between RAK FTZ and the RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry have received new momentum and have developed even closer ties following the signature of the MoU.

He also stressed that the MoU will create close interaction between officials of both departments with joint forces deepening the cooperation and work in all projects.
