Qatar-Kuwait pipeline plan doubtful
CAIRO Saudi Arabia is still opposing a proposed pipeline through its territory to supply Kuwait with Qatari gas, despite Doha's insistence that the differences have been resolved, a specialised fortnightly reported.
The London-based Gulf States Newsletter (GSN) said "some within the Saudi hierarchy want to continue to target Qatar ... to force it to rein in the outspoken Al-Jazeera Satellite Channel".
Last month, Nasser Jaidah, director of the new ventures department of the state-run Qatar Petroleum company, said Saudi Arabia had given approval for the pipeline to pass through its territorial waters.
