President Issues Decree on Quality and Conformity
ABU DHABI - The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has issued in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Law Number 3 of Year 2009, on the quality and conformity in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The law specifies the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, office, jurisdiction and board formation.
As per article of this law, all requirements of quality and conformity specifications in the following fields are covered by the law.
Mutual operational conformity, public health, food, radioactive materials, construction and building, road constructions, activities and materials susceptible to fire, environment, communications, EMC, precious stones and valuable metals. Any other field agreed by the executive council upon proposal from the board.
In accordance with the law, the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council will be set up.
The council will be an autonomous andcorporate body.
