The new roadsters, boasting slightly remodelled contours as is always the case with Porsche, will be on display at Porsche showrooms in the Middle East from December 9. They are priced from $43,000 for the 2.7 litre Boxster and $ 49,820 for the Boxster S.

Mark Bishiop, managing director, Porsche Middle East, said even though each and every body part of the new line-up is new these are never radically redesigned. "There was no real reason to make any radical changes to the Boxster's timeless shape or figure. Porsche follows a strategy of evolution, not revolution in terms of design," he said.

"However, quite a lot is different in the new generation from the former, especially the interior design with enhanced ergonomics," he added. "Some things are visible and some are not. We say a new face with familiar features. Overall, the new look refines the Boxsters strengths."

He said the new version of the two-seater roadster is even more dynamic and quick; acceleration from 0-100 needs only 6.2 seconds in the Boxster and 5.5 in the Boxster S.
