PITEX to have exhibitors from Middle East for first time

LAHORE — The 7th Pakistan Information Technology Exhibition (PITEX), to be held from January 20 - 22 next year at the Expo Center Fortress Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan, is for the first time accepting exhibitors from the Middle East .

PITEX is being organised jointly by the Punjab Government's IT Board and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The announcement was made by Jawed Saifi, Director of Event and Conference International, who organises the show.

Saifi claimed that with the participation of major international IT & Telecom companies, local entrepreneurs would be given the opportunity to expand their range of products, sign dealership agreements and enhance the variety of hardware and software currently available to users in Pakistan.

Rizwan Ameen Sheikh, Chairman of Punjab IT Board, said that the vision of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Chief Minister of Punjab, to make Punjab the hub of information technology would be fulfilled through this event.

The companies, which have already confirmed their participation, include Siemens, Hewlett Packard, Viewsonic and Acer computers.
