Panasonic poised to increase market share in digital copiers

DUBAI - Panasonic group dealing in consumer electronics, telecommunications and office automation announced the latest addition to the Workio product line up DP-2310 and DP-3010 which are designed to take the most difficult job and simplify it, giving free time to focus on other priorities. The new Workio models are user friendly machines providing multi functional copying, printing, scanning and networking capabilities.

Hitoshi Shigetomi, manager, Display and Documents section, Panasonic Marketing Middle East, said: "The Workio DP-6010/4510/3510 is a series of new generation office companions that is based on the feedback received from the market. It is designed to meet the requirements of any office environment and can be expanded on demand to speed up day to day office jobs. The network capability is built in, the scanner and document management system enables electronic archiving of scanned documents, which in turn can be edited and shared with everyone connected to the network. In short, its like building the office of the future."

With Workio, any paper or handwritten data can be converted into digital data that can be viewed or edited on any PC in the office local area network.

Mr Shigetomi, added, "There is a growing market for digital imaging systems in the Middle East region, and Panasonic plans to double its regional sales by 2004 to cater to the demand."

The new Workio range is available with Panatech Engineering, part of Al Futtaim Group in the UAE.
