Palm Utilities to begin operations of new facilities

DUBAI — Palm Utilities recently commissioned two new projects as the company continues to expand its operations and deliver its world-class utility solutions to prime development projects in the region. Palm Utilities will provide complete turnkey operations to the second phase of Discovery Gardens and the Palm Jumeirah Trunk developments, with both facilities expected to be operational by the end of August 2008, said a Press release.

The Discovery Gardens project, being undertaken by Palm District Cooling (PDC), will supply 104,000 tonnes of refrigeration (TR) through three District Cooling Plants, while the Palm Jumeirah Trunk project, being worked on by PDC and Palm Water, will deliver up to 105,000 TR through four District Cooling Plants. Palm Utilities further announced that by August two other projects currently undergoing construction will also commence operation: the first two phases of the 120,000 TR serving Atlantis on Palm Jumeirah Crescent, and the first phase of the 105,000 TR for Jumeirah Lake Towers.

Ahmed Butti, Director-General of Dubai Customs and Chairman of Palm Utilities said: "Palm Utilities has leveraged the expertise and state-of-the-art technologies of Palm District Cooling and Palm Water to deliver comprehensive utility solutions to the most prestigious property development projects in the UAE.
