The Pakistan Business Council (PBC) is ready to open its first office in the Cambridge Business Centre at Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO).

The PBC works under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and helps promote trade, commerce and investment between the UAE and Pakistan.

The announcement was made during the PBC's general body meeting recently held in Dubai under the aegis of executive vice-president Iskander Sultan Khwaja. The Dubai Silicon Oasis office has been gifted to PBC by its director Ahmed Shaikhani and his family.

The Pakistan Business Council organises events on a regular basis to promote the interests of its members and introduces Pakistani products to business houses in the UAE, especially in Dubai, for investment and joint ventures in Pakistan.

The PBC also helps organise exhibitions in Dubai for promoting Pakistani products.

The seven directors are elected by its members under the guidance of the Dubai Chamber every two years. The PBC committee meets regularly to
review various aspects of its ongoing initiatives.

The council works closely with individuals and 35 other business councils and organisations in Dubai and other emirates on commercial matters of mutual interest. The PBC plays a very big role in increasing awareness of Dubai's commercial position in the Middle East and among the Pakistan business community.

The council provides a platform to the Pakistani business community to interact with local and international companies and promote businesses. It regularly holds discussions and seminars on key business topics and workshops by eminent industry personalities to educate the business community. Moreover, the PBC facilitates business communities in the UAE to invest in Pakistan and vice versa.
