Nisreen Ahmed Jaffer, Acting Director-general of Export Development at the Oman Centre for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Ociped), said Omani origin non-oil exports totalled RO555.3 million, compared to RO420.3 million in 2004, up 32.1 per cent, and RO265.8 million in 2001, the first year of the Sixth Five Year Plan.

During the plan period, the compounded annual growth rate of such exports was 20.2 per cent, she added.

"The export performance has been in line with the strategy adopted by Ociped which has identified thrust products and target markets for the short, medium and long terms," Nisreen observed.

She was speaking at a ceremony here on Wednesday to launch 'Oman ProductMap', a new trade information web portal, and the second edition of the bilingual 'Trade Secrets', an export answer book for Oman's small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Both were jointly produced by Ociped and Geneva-based International Trade Cemtre (ITC).
