Local calls are now charged 31 baisas per minute and SMS at 78 baisa, making them the best rates compared to other operators in the country, a spokesman for the majority state-owned company said.

“Since the UAE is one of the main roaming destinations for Oman Mobile customers, the company provides them with unmatched rates,” he added. The company also announced a new offer for its pre-paid ‘Hayyak’ subscribers.

Under the scheme, called ‘Hayyak Bonus’, subscribers will benefit by getting a 20 per cent of the usage of their mobile originated calls, both video and voice, credited back to their account.

“This bonus amount will be credited in the subscriber’s bonus accounts. Every Hayyak subscribre will have two accounts a main account which is used currently whenever subscribers make a top-up and a bonus account which will be utilised for the new offer,” a spokesman for Omantel said. The offer will run until August 28. —business@khaleejtimes.com
