NYK sets up logistics unit for region

DUBAI Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) of Japan, one of the world's leading shipping and transport companies, has announced the establishment of NYK Logistics (Middle East) following its recent expansion into Europe and Americas.

The new office is part of NYK's strategy plan to expand its global logistics business. Based in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ), the company is a one-stop shop offering end-to-end supply chain solutions, including international freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution, as well as value-added services such as packaging, co-packing and banding.

Taizo Akabane, Director and General Manager of NYK Logistics Group, said:" NYK Logistics will meet the increased demand for effective supply chain management solutions in the region. with our global network and international transportation experience, combined with the local expertise, we will offer the highest standards of service and safety to our customers."

Hanif Mohammed, Business Manager, NYK Logistics (Middle East) LLC, said the company's comprehensive range of logistics services was aimed at serving the unique supply chain needs of multinational Japanese companies in the consumer electronics and automotive spare parts industries in the UAE.

Hiroshi Shiojiri, Japanese Consul General in Dubai, said: " The entry of NYL Logistics will further contribute to promoting the strong and cordial partnership between the Japanese business circle sin Dubai and their UAE counterparts."
