Netgear Aims to Increase ME Market Share by 30pc

DUBAI — Netgear, a manufacturer of networking and storage equipment specifically targeting the small and medium sized businesses, has set plans to increase its market share in the Middle East by 30 per cent during 
the current fiscal.

Speaking exclusively to Khaleej Times, Ahmad Zeidan, Regional Manager, Netgear - Middle East, said: “We have experienced a stable year in the Middle East. Our third quarter showed increasing demand in the Middle East, and we are extremely pleased with our business performance this last quarter. The demand from SMB sector improved during the period. “We are definitely expecting double digit growth in 2010, as the companies in the Middle East are looking at cost effective solutions to meet their growing demands and also to stay ahead of competition.”

The company is also investing in the Saudi market, further equipping out partners and resellers in support and meeting demands of its clients. “Expanding our reach by partnering with leading distributors and resellers has been a very effective strategy for us. Our line of solutions in the networking, storage and security segments is focused on providing a good balance between features, price and life-time warranty,” Zeidan said.

Netgear recently announced that it has appointed Fujisoft Technology as its ‘value added partner’ in the UAE, as part of its growth and expansion plans within the local SMB sector. In addition, the company also launched its ‘2010 Value Added Program’, which is part of its aims to set a new bar for price, performance, and wireless networking technologies support for SMBs in the country.

“The SMB market is the most potential-laden segment in the Middle East as far as technology adoption is concerned, this drives us towards helping the region’s small and medium-sized businesses increase their productivity, efficiency, and security by maximizing the latest innovations in information technology,” said Omar Lutfi Azzawi, SMB Channel Manager, NETGEAR Middle East in a statement.

Netgear’s 2010 Value Added Program’ will focus on the value added reseller (VAR), who should be able to offer a full hardware solution for small and medium businesses, the company said in a statement.

The programme also aims to provide attractive incentives for their partners such as sales and technical support and training, customer site visits, special tender prices, live demonstrations and product demos.

Fujisoft Technology caters to the structured cabling requirement of corporate offices and commercial towers, and delivers IP telephony, call centre, CCTV security, indoor and outdoor wireless solutions, as well as web portal and .NET applications. Among the company’s high profile clients are Lufthansa, Coca Cola Arabia, Danway, Emirates Environment Group, Gulf Shipchandlers LLC, Halliburton Limited Al Futtaim Properties, Le Meridien, Al Habtoor, Aramex and British University Dubai, among others, the statement from Netgear said.
