Nahyan, Shahbaz Sharif discuss bilateral ties

ABU DHABI — UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak received Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and members of the accompanying delegation who are in the UAE on a current visit.

The meeting discussed the close ties between the UAE and Pakistan.

Those present at the meeting were Shaikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Pakistan Ambassador to the UAE Khorshid Ahmed Jonijo, Higher Colleges of Technology Vice-Chancellor Dr Tayeb Kamali and other academicians. Later, Shaikh Nahyan hosted a lunch in honour of the Pakistani official.

In a speech, Sharif hailed the UAE’s leadership and people for extending continuous support to the Pakistani people at times of crisis, specially citing UAE’s generous emergency aid to regions hit by the recent flooding that devastated Pakistan.

For his part, Shaikh Nahyan said Pakistan is among the first exporters of manpower to the UAE and plays a role in the continuing process of development. —
