The 28th edition of the hugely successful show is bringing together international and local exhibitors, alongside government trade associations to do business with the region's prominent buyers, retailers, decision makers, dealers and distributors.
Geoffry Booy, Exhibition Director, Motexha 2006, said: "Textile trading and related activities holds steadfast in the Middle East region, creating a demand for dedicated space that caters to the needs of the traders and buyers. Motexha 2006 is uniquely positioned as the trade avenue of choice for the region's prominent buyers, retailers and distributors to interact with industry leaders, international exhibitors and trade bodies."
"The core of the Middle East market activity in textile, garments and leather goods are based on re-exporting, retailing, distribution and trading. Motexha is the only such show in the region that provides an opportunity to its exhibitors and visitors to source competitively priced products from the global market with the optimum balance of quality and reliability," he added. Dubai has an established presence in the textile and garment market in the Middle East. Recent Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry figures indicate that exports of products reached Dh625 million in 2004.
While in 2005 the general trading activity in textile, clothing and footwear peaked at Dh1.9 billion. Over the past years, Motexha has catered to the dynamic market scenario in the textile and clothing sector such as growth in volume and retail development.
Traders exhibiting at Motexha were able to forge sustainable business partnerships with region wide retailers. This year, over 250 exhibitors from 30 countries including 16 country pavilions are gearing up to satisfy regional demand for textile trading and competitively priced products.
"Motexha has been the key platform for business development and networking between traders and international exhibitors for the last 28 years. Motexha provides an excellent B2B environment for large retail buyers looking to sell to independent retailers and for sourcing suppliers. Motexha is a flagship event for the trading community in the UAE and the wider region as it offers excellent networking opportunities with potential partners or clients," says Booy.
Motexha is a calendar event for wholesalers and distributors that leverage its trade platform to sell to regional-wide retailers, as well as for retailers that look to the exhibition to predict new trends and fashion for the next season. Motexha is officially supported by Texmas — a 300 member strong textile merchants group.
