A ready reckoner for entrepreneurs seeking to set up businesses in the region, the latest edition adds on to the contents that encompass such vital aspects like licencing procedures, economic indicators of the emirates, legal forms of companies and issues involved in setting up a business base.
Raju Menon, managing partner of Morison Menon Chartered Accountants, said: "The book was initially compiled as a result of a felt need raised by many of our clients. It was also the first time that all relevant information one associates with setting up a business in the UAE and the UAE free trade zones was put together. While you might find them in snatches elsewhere, we have put it all together to help anyone interested in doing business with the UAE in this handbook".
Menon said that the latest edition also contains the developments of the UAE during the last one year.
Dubai Municipality Director-General Qassim Sultan said in the foreword for the book: "Doing Business from the UAE and the UAE Free Zones is as much important for the visiting entrepreneurs as for the UAE's own business and service community in that it encompasses the open-door policy followed by the emirate. It underscores that there is no scope for ambiguity in dealing with the emirate, and demonstrates to the world the transparency Dubai follows in welcoming entrepreneurs."
Over 30,000 copies of the handbook will be circulated to organisations including embassies, business councils, entrepreneur forums and high net worth individuals in the UAE as well as abroad. At least 12,000 copies have been earmarked for circulation overseas.
