This will bring to 16 the total number of Montblanc outlets in the UAE by end-2009, including those in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, according to Hamburg-based Jean Marc Pontrove, executive vice-president for product strategies and development, Montblanc International Gmbh.

“Dubai is one of the top 10 cities in the world for us, and the first city where we achieved a diversified sale of our products,” he said, noting that the company is more known for its writing instruments in most other global cities. He stressed that the UAE is Montblanc’s biggest market in the Middle East, which has posted an annual growth of 35 per cent in terms of the brand’s turnover. Global turnover grew 15 per cent. Pontrove said the three boutiques would open next year in Dubai’s modern residential community of Mirdif, in Dubai Marina and at the Mall of Arabia. In September Montblanc will open its 13th UAE outlet in Dubai Mall following the renovation or establishment of four other outlets in City Centre, Wafi, Dubai Mall and Festival City, all in Dubai.
