ME airlines to buy 870 more aircraft by 2027

DUBAI — Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president, Dubai Department of Civil Aviation, and chairman of Emirates Group, yesterday said that commercial airlines in the Middle East would buy 870 more aircraft by 2027.

He said this move would double to 600 the region's business fleet over the next five years, and that demand for innovative interiors including entertainment systems in the Middle East would "rise to unprecedented levels".

"Airlines in this region have been recognised throughout the industry with setting the agenda on interior advancements and their specifications are now amongst the most demanding in the world," said Shaikh Ahmed.
