McDermott, as the company is popularly known, has been producing unique products for the world's offshore oil and gas industry for over four decades and was the first major industry to move its base to Jebel Ali Free Zone.

Pointing this out, Mr Bin Sulayem said: "McDermott has played a major part in the development of Dubai from early days. It shifted to Jafza at a time when many companies were hesitant to come here. Today, Jebel Ali is the New Dubai and the preferred destination to entrepreneurs of every kind. "McDermott provides us with a sophisticated example of what a company could achieve when you have excellent management and manpower behind you. McDermott will continue to receive our unstinted support as they look to an even brighter future. "
