At the ceremony, Masafi walked away with the honours, winning the gold for Sales Promotion and ‘Marketing Achievement – Large Company’ as well as garnering the most popular award – the GEMAS Gold Grand Prix.
Competing against a host of local, regional and international brands, Masafi was also ‘highly commended’ in the Customer Focus category.
The GEMAS ceremony, held at Al Jawhara Ballroom at Madinat Jumeirah, was attended by more than 700 people, representing leading marketers, representatives of communications industry and the media. In all, awards were presented in 11 different categories.

The Grand Prix is conferred by Gulf Marketing Review (GMR) and cannot be entered. The gold, silver and bronze awards are decided by the judges and selected from all entries as the best examples of marketing effectiveness.

Masafi’s bagged the gold award in the Sales Promotion Category, in view of its clearly defined, innovative and well-executed promotional campaign that was benchmarked against sales objectives.
The company’s phenomenal growth figures and successful marketing strategies clinched the award in its favour.
Masafi’s trading performance over the past four years won it the gold in the ‘Marketing Achievement’ award. The accolade recognised the company’s marketing excellence, which had driven its business growth in the region.
The company also won the Highly Commended place in the Customer Focus category, which incorporated both internal or customer-facing service initiatives as well as customer loyalty programmes.
