DUBAI - Sentiments were mixed yesterday on the DFM, while the ADSM remained closed for the weekend and there was very little activity on the OTC market.
The DFM bond market also saw some activity as there were two trades for two Dubai bonds that closed unchanged at Dh99.98.
Emaar led the volumes among the equities traded on the DFM closing with gains of five fils at Dh23. There were 48 trades for the property stock of a total volume of 446,429 shares, which were valued at over Dh10.26 million.
Tabreed also advanced five fils to Dh10.35, while Dubai Islamic Bank rose 10 fils to Dh25.95 and Dubai Investments finished with gains of five fils at Dh7.
There were two losers on the DFM with both Commercial Bank of Dubai and Dubai National Insurance going down 25 fils to close at Dh74.25 and Dh16.80 respectively. The total DFM shares volume for the day was reported at 490,794 shares, which were valued at over Dh11.36 million. The bond market volume was at two bonds valued at Dh50,003.
The National Bank of Abu Dhabi Emirates Stock Markets Index (NBAD ESMI), which tracks the DFM and the ADSM listed shares, was up 0.23 points to 1,436. The NBAD ESMI service sector index advanced 0.45 points to 1,097.77, while the NBAD ESMI banking sector index declined 0.07 points to 1,658.52 and the NBAD ESMI insurance sector index dropped 0.74 points to 1,214.65. Emirates Financial Services (EFS) listed just one mover on the OTC market in Abu Dhabi National Insurance, which declined Dh1.82 to Dh95.18 on a volume of 39,000 shares, which were valued at over Dh3.71 million.
Emnex fell 0.43 points to 2,359.54 as the insurance sub-index declined 9.75 points to 1,323.45 and the financial services sub-index dropped 0.24 points to 2,692.57. The Islamic sub-index advanced 1.74 points to 1,030.17 and the property sub-index was up 1.41 points to 860.76. The telecom sub-index remained unchanged for the day.
The NBAD market review listed no movers on the OTC market. The NBAD general index advanced 0.54 points to 3,584.12. The NBAD service sector index was up 1.75 points to 4,180.74, while the NBAD banking sector index declined 0.14 points to 3,729.03 and the NBAD insurance sector index finished with losses of 1.02 points at 2,718.12.
EFS reported the cumulative market volume for the day at 529,794 shares, which were valued at over Dh15.07 million.
