Neil Baird, Chairman of Baird Publication, organiser of the exhibition, said: "We are quite confident that the show is going to be great, challenging all gloomy conditions existing in the region, thanks to the great support by the local ship and boat manufacturers who have strongly supported the show. "Gulf Craft , Al Shaaly Marine and Dubai Dry Dock are all here along with Australian and European boat makers."

He said: "The Maritime industry has been growing fast during the last decade with a lots focus on sophisticated vessels like tourists yachts and oil services vessels.

"A major feature of the exhibition will be an on-water display of a range of crew, fishing and patrol boats and other working crafts. These will be displayed in a magnificent new aluminium marina created by Seaspray Aluminium Boats.

Mohammed Al Mosharrakh, a board member of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: "We would not advise any of our exhibitors to cancel or postpone their shows in the UAE since is a very secureplace".

"We are prepared to help our exhibitors and provide them with everything that they required to make their businesses a great success," he said.
