Maersk Oil Qatar awards EPIC contract to NPCC
ABU DHABI — National Petroleum Construction Company(NPCC) has been awarded by Maersk Oil Qatar another major EPIC contract forsubmarine pipeline for Block 5 Field Development Plan of Al Sheehan FieldQatar.
The Block 5 isoperated by Maersk Oil Qatar under a production sharing agreement with QatarPetroleum. Scope of work under the EPIC turnkey contract includes design,engineering, procurement, fabrication, offshore installation and testing ofapproximately 260 kilometres of submarine pipelines in various diametersranging between six inch to 24inch, in addition to 60 kilometressubmarine power and communication cables and associated works in water depthsranging between 52 metres to 70 metres. As per the contract, the first campaign is scheduled for completion by end 2007 and the secondcampaign is to be completed by mid 2009.
