Lutron to set up Dubai base
DUBAI — Lutron Electronics, a US-based firm specialising in the design and manufacturing of lighting control systems announced that it has chosen Dubai to establish its regional office which will look after its Middle East and India operations.
Lutron already has a significant market share in both the United States and Europe and is considered one of the leading manufacturers in lighting controls.
"Lighting and shade control is more important in this region than anywhere else in the globe not only because we are a giant construction site but also because light simply means source of life and controlling light in our benefit in structures we are currently building will provide healthy and productive work and living spaces " said Ahmed Bukhatir, spokesperson of the UAE Contractors Association.
"Lutron products will offer necessary green technology to construct sustainable buildings. People will be able to use their windows, lightings and energy more efficiently and aesthetically," said Joe Jacob, Lutron's Director of Business Development for the Middle East and India.
