UAE’s prominent Indian business leaders honoured in Dubai

Winners of the NDTV Gulf Indian Excellence Awards in Dubai

Dubai - The award ceremony was attended by leading Indian and international business representatives as well as professionals from across the Gulf region.

Several of the UAE's most prominent Indian businesspeople were honoured at the NDTV Gulf Indian Excellence Awards held in Dubai earlier this week.
Hosted by India's leading TV news channel NDTV, the ceremony was supported by Khaleej Times as a Print Media Partner, and was attended by leading Indian and international business representatives as well as professionals from across the Gulf region.
The awards were presented under five categories: Transformational Business Leaders, Strategic Innovators of the Year, Creative Entrepreneurs of the Year, Business Innovators and Global Business Leaders.
Among the Global Business Leaders honoured for excellence in their respective domains were, in alphabetic order, Adeeb Ahamed, CEO, LuLu International Exchange; Yusuff Ali M.A., Chairman, Lulu Group; Micky Jagtiani, Chairman, Landmark Group; Thumbay Moideen, President, Thumbay Group; Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman, Mulk Holdings; Rizwan Sajan, Chairman, Danube Group; B.R. Shetty, Chairman, NMC Healthcare; and Sunil Vaswani, Chairman, Stallion Group.
The event also saw NDTV presenters host three panel discussions with some of the prominent honourees and business representatives.

Panel discussion ‘Time to Bridge the Gulf’ in progress before the awards presentation
The first panel discussion, titled "Time to Bridge the Gulf," was moderated by Vishnu Som and participants included Thumbay Moideen, President, Thumbay Group; Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman, Mulk Holdings, Kulwant Singh, President, IBPC; and a Khaleej Times editorial representative.
The discussion touched upon the various subjects where the UAE and India share a common interest, and explored ways to convert mutual relations into a strategic partnership.
A second panel discussion hosted by Manisha Natarajan saw panelists B.R. Shetty, Chairman, NMC Healthcare; Ram Buxani, President, ITL Group; and Harshad Mehta, Founder & Chairman, 7CS, share their views on the topic 'Heralding the UAE-India partnership in a new era'.

The event also saw Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director, Studio City; and Avi Bhojani, Group CEO, Bates Pangulf, discuss the reasons behind Dubai's emergence as leading destination for international moviemakers.
